Chipset manufacturer Qualcomm has launched its new mobile chipset Qualcomm Snapdragon 888. The Snapdragon 888 Plus has been launched at the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2021). This new processor is an upgraded version of Snapdragon 888. Snapdragon 888 Plus is powered by Kryo 680 CPU prime core with a clock speed of 3.0GHz. The new processor is powered by a 6th generation Qualcomm AI Engine with 32TOPS (Terra Operation Per Second) performance. The company claims that its performance is 20 percent more than the first processor.
The big difference with the new processor Snapdragon 888 Plus is the Kryo 680 which has a maximum speed of 2.995GHz. It will get Adreno 660 GPU for graphics. It has a Snapdragon X60 5G modem with a speed of up to 7.5Gbps. For Wi-Fi connectivity, it has Qualcomm Fast Connect 6900. According to Qualcomm, the launch of the phone with Snapdragon 888 Plus will happen in the third quarter of 2021.
The Snapdragon 888 Plus is powered by the Spectra 580 ISP with a processing speed of 2.7 gigapixels per second. It can record three photos of 28 megapixels or three 4K HDR videos simultaneously. The new processor Snapdragon Elite supports the full range of gaming features from variable-rate shading to quick touch.
