With the Trinamool Congress (TMC) winning the counting of votes in West Bengal last Sunday, the ruling party goons are facing charges of violence. Several reports of a fire in BJP offices, the killing of workers, destroying their houses have surfaced in the media. The BJP has also claimed that two of its women poll agents were gang-raped. The All India Students' Council (ABVP) has also accused TMC goons of targeting their offices and workers.
It is alleged that TMC workers entered the office of the ABVP in Kolkata and ransacked it. At the same time, the workers present there were also assaulted. ABVP has also alleged that the goons of TMC deliberately damaged the idols of Mother Kali and Lord Hanuman. ABVP General Secretary Nidhi Tripathi said that those who raised their voice against Mamata Banerjee are being shed blood.
She says that in Kolkata, 150 TMC goons came to the provincial office of ABVP shouting slogans and hooting, which created havoc. Later on Monday afternoon, 15-20 goons entered and abused and assaulted the office bearers. Pictures of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, Subhas Chandra Bose, and Rabindranath Tagore in the office were smashed.
