Here's our first look at the Xiaomi Redmi 8A: Details Inside

Xiaomi's upcoming Redmi 8A smartphone has been spotted on Chinese certification site TENAA, which has been the source of leaks around the devices that launch in China first. The Redmi 8A is listed as the M1908C3KE device. It can be seen sporting a single camera at the back and seems to carry on the Redmi 7 series decent specs. It can be seen sporting Xiaomi's Dot Notch display at the front.

Looking at Xiaomi's current portfolio, the Redmi 7 is available at Rs 7,499 while the ultra-affordable Redmi 7A comes at Rs 5,999. We can expect the Redmi 8A to launch at roughly the same price in India though we will have to wait for the official launch.

The Redmi 8A leaked image shows the phone sporting a plastic body with a design that might be a theme for the upcoming 8-series of phones - Redmi 8 and Redmi Note 8 series. At the back, the phone can be seen sporting a band which has Redmi branding and also has 'Designed by Xiaomi' moniker. The single-camera module can be seen, accompanied by an LED flash. The Redmi branding can also be seen at the front.

According to the leaked details, the Redmi 8A features a 6.2-inch HD+ 2.5D curved glass display and is powered by an octa-core processor. It will be available in 2GB RAM + 16GB, 3GB RAM + 32GB, and 4GB RAM+ 64GB models. The phone runs on Android 9 Pie with MIUI 10 and supports dual-SIM. It is listed to sport a 12-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and an 8-megapixel selfie camera. The phone packs a massive 5000mAh battery. The TENAA listing also hints at the colour variants of the Redmi 8A which could launch in Black, Red, Blue, and Grey colours.

Notably, the Redmi 7A was touted as the "Smart Desk ka Smartphone" by Xiaomi in India. It featured Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 octa-core processor and came with a 4000mAh battery which claimed to deliver two-day battery life.

It features a 12-megapixel AI Sony IMX486 rear camera and comes with a two-year warranty, which was a first in the segment in India. It came with a 5.45-inch HD+ display.
