Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Karim Benzema have been named finalists for the 2022 FIFA Best Men’s Footballer Award, the governing body of FIFA.
Messi captained the Argentina national team in Qatar last year, beating France in a dramatic final to win the World Cup. Messi won his ball in the tournament golden and Paris his Saint-Germain teammate Mbappe won his boot in golden with his eight goals.

Spain’s Alexia Pteras, England’s striker Beth Hermead and United States’ Alex Morgan were nominated for Best Female Player. The winners of the 2022 Best Player, Best Manager, Best Goalkeeper and Puskas Award for Best Goal will be announced on 27 February in Paris.
