ICC Test Rankings: Williamson again becomes No. 1, leaving Smith behind, Virat remains in fourth place

The ICC on Wednesday released the latest Test rankings of the players. New Zealand captain Kane Williamson has again risen to the top of the batsmen's rankings. He is at number one with a 901 rating. Before Kane, former Australia captain Steve Smith was in the first place but now he has slipped to the second position. Let us inform you that Williamson led New Zealand to the title of World Test Championship (WTC) final under his captaincy. Let us tell you that in the ranking of batsmen, Australian player Marnus Labuschagne (878 ratings) is in third place while Indian captain Virat Kohli (812 ratings) remains in fourth place. At the same time, England captain Joe Root remains at number five. 


Smith had overtaken Williamson to top the rankings two weeks ago but the New Zealand captain has regained the top spot. Williamson reached the top of the rankings for the first time in November 2015 during the series against Australia. At the same time, Team India's opener Rohit Sharma has again reached number six, while wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant has lost one place and has slipped to number seven. 


Australian opener David Warner and South African batsman Quinton de Kock have gained a place each to move up to number eight and ninth, respectively. New Zealand's Nicholas Henry has lost two places and has slipped to number 10. Ross Taylor has improved three places to number 14. Devon Conway jumped 18 places to number 42.
